Job Description

An International Telecommunication Company located in Beirut is looking for a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

 

As a Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will be in charge of securing our company’s data and ensuring compliance with privacy requirements. Your understanding and proactive approach will help us retain trust and respect the privacy rights of persons whose data we manage.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and administer a comprehensive data security program that complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) to detect and analyze the impact of data processing activities on individuals’ privacy rights.
  3. Develop and implement data protection policies, practices, and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and other regional data protection standards.
  4. Act as the principal point of contact for all internal and external enquiries about data protection.
  5. Work with cross-functional teams to give data protection information and support, such as data processing and sharing agreements and permission mechanisms.
  6. Monitor and review the data security procedures of the organization, finding opportunities for improvement and suggesting corrective actions.
  7. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure that data security rules and procedures are followed.
  8. Employees should be taught and informed on data security rules, policies, and best practices.
  9. Respond to requests for individual data subject access and other data protection-related inquiries.
  10. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and data protection oversight groups as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  3. Employees should be taught and informed on data security rules, policies, and best practices.
  4. Respond to requests for individual data subject access and other data protection-related inquiries.
  5. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and data protection oversight groups as appropriate.
  6. Understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as ISO 27018, ISO 27701, or industry-specific requirements.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary, as well as the ability to recognize complicated privacy risks and design effective mitigation strategies.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to properly communicate data protection standards and policies to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  9. The ability to work independently and multitask while prioritizing assignments to meet deadlines.
  10. Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) are in great demand.
