This affects not only your professional life, but also your personal life. It hinders your progress, makes you lose your motivation, and turns your life into hell.

Thus, the best way to avoid sinking in this mess would be to detect a bad boss right from the start, when he interviews you for a potential job.

Here are seven main characteristics to look for in order to avoid being stuck with a bad boss:

1- He gets late for the interview without giving prior notice or apologizing for his delay.

2- His office is in a complete mess, and lack organization and neatness.

3- He displays poor body language; he keeps on looking at his clock and avoids eye contact.

4- He speaks negatively of previous employees and refuses to tell you why they left their position.

5 - He seems distracted, talks when checking his email or examining documents.

6 - He asks illegal questions related to the religion and personal life or naive questions that can be answered through looking at the CV.

7- He can’t tell you about your exact position in the company and cannot clearly share with you the company’s mission and vision.

These signs are a clear warning that this is a bad boss, so better to avoid being employed at this company and seek a better opportunity. This would save you a lot of time, effort and stress.
